Ara Maris Boutique Hotel

The furnishings and public areas blend harmoniously with the landscape, combining elegance and sustainability, offering guests a comfortable sophisticated ambience. Designed to promote beauty and comfort, the public areas include an exhibition space showcasing works of contemporary Italian and international art.

Molteni&C took part in this exclusive project by supplying all the fixed furniture and furnishings for the public areas and bedrooms.

The latter, with its contemporary design, is characterised by the use of wood combined with colour finishes that make the rooms warm and cosy. Cool tones, such as the blue on the walls or the sea-blue majolica tiles used in some corners of the room, recall the colours of the sea.

The public areas, reception, lobby, restaurant and bar, are furnished with custom wall units and wall coverings. An iconic element of the lobby is the large bookcase that separates the reception area from the zone of transit. In a combination of wood and metal, its structure features a series of arches, alternating voids and solids to offer glimpses of the rooms behind and a view of the inner garden.

The rooms are decorated with pieces from the Molteni&C collections, featuring Louisa and Regent coffee tables, the Cleo sofa, and the Walter armchairs, all by Vincent Van Duysen, and the Chelsea sofa and armchairs by Rodolfo Dordoni. Completing the furnishings is Ignazio Gardella’s Blevio table from the Molteni&C Heritage Collection.

Molteni&C displays its modern Italian style in its Cape Town flagship store. Located in the most-visited destination in Africa, in the impressive Waterway House in the Canal District, the 375-square metre showroom, with its two entrances and full-height windows, offers a spectacular Molteni&C experience. Combining natural light and the brilliance of LED, with travertine tiled floors and the warm tones of textured walls and metallic paints, the space accentuates the luxurious quality of the kitchens, bookshelves, wardrobes, sofas and furniture collections.
