Numatic: Germs Are Lurking In Your Living Room

There are a number of hidden places in your home where germs, dust and grime can often be found lurking. It’s a new year, so it may be time to clean out those secret nooks and restore health in your home. 

Here we share some interesting places you should deep clean this year, to eliminate germs in the living room.

The Ceiling Fan

We can often forget about our ceiling fans through the winter months, but when summer arrives, we need to give it a good clean before we use it and avoid a sea of dust being flown around our living rooms. Use a soft duster and wipe down your fan – be sure to wipe each individual blade and clean away any obvious dirt.

The TV Remote

We use our remotes all the time,  but when last did you actually clean your TV remote? Use disinfecting wipes to clean between the grooves and wipe away any grime and germs that may be lurking. You could also use a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol and give your remote a thorough clean.

Behind Mirrors and Wall Art

Every few months, it is advisable to remove any frames and mirrors from your wall and clean the under-sides and wall from any dust or germs. Be sure to properly wipe around the frames of your mirrors and wall art before carefully hanging these back on the wall.

In the couch

Your beautifully upholstered couch also needs a frequent clean. You should be vacuuming your upholstery weekly to ensure it remains in a good condition. Deep clean your upholstery twice annually to help maintain it. Be sure to remove seat covers and any loose pillows and vacuum along the sides of the couch, as well as at the back.

Scatter cushions

When last did you wash your scatter cushions? These are easy dust traps that need to be cleaned regularly. Simply wash covers and wash pillow inners every few months to ensure their longevity.
