Delightfully Delicious Romi Restaurant: An Ode to Indonesian Cuisine

For a unique culinary voyage to Indonesia, Romi is a restaurant full of surprises that pays homage to the roots of the chefs.

As the sun sets, Tropical Hotel, St Barth invites you to Romi, a restaurant that celebrates Indonesian gastronomy.

Blending Chinese, Indian and even oriental influences, Indonesian cuisine is characterised by dishes that are both spicy and refined. Originally from Bali, the chefs share their culinary heritage with freshness and modernity. Designed in a spirit of conviviality and discovery, the menu evolves throughout the evening.

Step inside and you’ll notice that he restaurant adopts the same mood as the adjoining patio. On a mural painted by Raphaël Schmitt, different plant species are artistically depicted, blurring the line between the interior and exterior.

Like a large open house, the room is naturally divided into several spaces clustered around a central bar where hotel guests can sample the mixologist’s selection of cocktails and mocktails throughout the day.

In the same convivial atmosphere, the restaurant receives its guests for dinner under the imposing colonial-style wooden roof, where tables of different sizes accommodate both couples and groups.

All that remains is to taste the chef’s specialities with delicate combinations of local and Mediterranean flavours, including black risotto with scallops and chorizo, linguine with caviar and grilled lobster. For dessert, those with a sweet tooth will be tempted by the rum baba or the homemade ice creams and sorbets.

From morning to night, the Tropical Hotel, St. Barth can adapt its menu to satisfy all tastes thanks to a casual dining experience. In the morning, breakfast is served in the room or on the patio and includes pastries, avocado toast, granola with fresh fruit and smoothies. At lunchtime, discerning food lovers can choose from a selection of cooked dishes served on the patio. On the menu: truffle croque monsieur, Niçoise salad with tuna belly, mahi-mahi fish, etc.

Other sweets, salads and sandwiches are available from room service or by the pool in the afternoon. In this area, nestled opposite the restaurant and bordered by palm trees, hotel guests can enjoy a meal while lounging on the deckchairs and beach beds with their colourful, striped patterns; elements borrowed from the tropical lifestyle and the bohemian ethos of the 1970s.

In these areas, the guests will also let themselves be carried by the musical program of the Tropical Hotel, St Barth which evolves throughout the day.
