Plascon House Tour: A Vintage Dutch Gem
We’re loving the fresh use of mossy green tones with white and beige in this vintage Dutch loft apartment. It’s quaint yet styled beautifully and instead of feeling cluttered, the home takes on an eclectic, light, bright and rustic chic ambience that is refreshing.
As this home is actually just one big open plan space, the choice of colours is essential and impacts the entire home. We see this in the playful use of green shades throughout, cleverly intertwined in the entire design scheme of this apartment. From the kitchen, we love the use of wood with white and touches of greenery in this space. It’s small but functional and makes the most of the available space with ample storage shelves and a clever hanging pot stand suspended from the ceiling boards overhead. A rustic wooden ladder leads to the upstairs loft bed – a great way to maximise the space in a small apartment. White angled ceilings add character here and the playful arrangement of vintage furniture gives it an old-world charm that we love. A daybed is also ideal in the living space, along with a beautifully trendy hanging chair suspended from the ceiling. A mix of fabrics adds texture here, from intricate lace detailing to a mix of scatters in neutral shades. The apartment feels lived in with personalised items that make this house a home. From an array of DVDs neatly housed off the floor on practical storage racks mounted on the ceiling; to photos, art and decorative accents that must have personal meaning to the owner. A skylight above the space adds ample lighting, making the home feel bright and airy, even though conventional windows are limited in the home. White tiled flooring also adds to the lightness of the space, helping to create a beautifully fresh and modern interior space for living, sleeping and entertaining. Contact: Plascon Via
