The Platform Gallery
Located in the old Lion’s River railway station along the R103 in the beautiful South African Midlands, The Platform Gallery showcases the best fine art the area has to offer.

This includes various works such as drawings, paintings and sculptures from several well-known KZN artists, including Allen Hallett, Llewellyn Davies, Sma Tshabalala, and Luke Falconer. In fact, the gallery boasts one of the largest collections of sculptures for sale in the country, with over 80 works on display.

And if the art isn’t enough, there are always the other local products the gallery also exhibits. “We also feature more practical masterpieces, like the many bespoke furniture pieces and smokeless fire pits that are all made locally, from fine art to beautifully crafted home furnishings, everything at the Platform will catch eyes and strike up endless conversations in your home,” says the company.
Carl Roberts – Stone Head
The gallery is also the proud organiser of ARC: Art for Conservation. The annual auction aims to raise funds to help protect critically endangered animals in the country by offering a curated selection of limited-edition artworks by South African artists to the art-loving public.
Free Fall – James Cook
The most recent auction, held on 3 March, was a great success and raised over R3.5 million for The Boucher Legacy and the conservation work it does.
Participating artists included Mbongeni Buthelezi, Anton Smit, Keith Calder, Ardmore Ceramic Art, James Cook, Carl Roberts, Sarah Richards, and Rory Cox.
The next ARC auction will be held in 2024 and The Platform Gallery looks forward to presenting more unique pieces and raising even more funds for The Boucher Legacy and the critically-important work it does.
