Plascon House Tour: An Edgy Spitalfields Makeover
A factory in London’s Spitalfields comes to life in true industrial style in this innovative makeover to suit a modern family. Here modern finishes, quirky artwork and fantasy interior elements are rolled into one contemporary abode.
The living space is a beautiful mix of contemporary furniture, modern glass walls and blocky concrete. Bold artwork adds interest and a playful green corner sofa adds a punch of colour in this modern space. Quirky decor elements include bright scatters, ceramic vases and vintage furniture finds.
The kitchen hints a the building’s former industrial facade with exposed brick wall that becomes a beautiful feature in this space. We love the open plan layout with central island that becomes a statement in this room – a gathering point for the family to enjoy life together. Concrete light fittings, industrial styled bar stools and pop art adds a little interest to this kitchen.
It’s all about indoor- outdoor living in the dining room which overlooks a beautiful henged-in patio and outdoor eating area. The space feels bright and connected to nature. A mix of eclectic chairs adds a fun and rustic edge to this room while concrete flooring brings a streamlined appearance to this space.
Grey subway tiles are different and add appeal in the modern bathroom. Concrete flooring adds to the industrial vibe and a modern heated towel rail adds a contemporary touch.
The bedroom is beautifully sleek and industrial in style. Gorgeous windows frame the bed – the use of a roll up blind allows for natural light to infiltrate this space. The mirror was mounted on to an easel to get round the issue of the curved wall and the love seat was reupholstered. We also love the industrial styled bed used here, adding a little urban edge to this striking master suite.
