Svenmill: Checks and Stripes

A perennial favourite, check and stripe fabrics have the unique ability to be both stylish and fun at the same time.

These classic patterns can be used to bring order and structure to a space (especially on walls or window coverings as it redirects the eye), add a playful component (think striped and chequered scatter cushions) and can be layered with other patterns, designs and colours for a unique look.

What makes these fabrics even more fun are the endless mixing and matching opportunities: there is no limit to how you can combine stripe and check patterns.

You can keep it classic and contained by opting for a neutral scheme and combining different patterns or add some cheek and cheer with tassels and cord trimming in a vibrant hue.

Or how about mixing a variety of colours in an alternating pattern (for instance thin and thick stripes)?

More adventurous decorators may even combine it with other designs (it looks fab mixed with florals and geometric patterns) for a vibrant scheme.

The possibilities are endless, especially at Svenmill.

With over 60 years of experience in the textile industry, Svenmill is a leading manufacturer and exporter of fine woven and warp-knitted upholstery, dual-purpose and curtaining fabrics, as well as apparel and technical fabrics. The company also sells a range of ready-made items, including scatter cushions, tablecloths and curtains.
