Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C

Our Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C has been one of the most versatile wood oils for many years. You can apply it to all wood surfaces eg. floors, furniture, stairs… and it also lives up to the European toy standard. Our oil is also ideal for worktops and other surfaces where food is involved such as restaurants and kitchen countertops. Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C has been declared safe to be used in contact with food. But what does that mean exactly?

This means that cutting boards, kitchen worktops, tabletops, etc. that have been treated with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C are also safe for household use, something that increasingly becomes a recommendation for lots of projects. In fact, our oil was tested by the independent testing institute Eurofins, according to the underlying specification of European Framework Regulation 1935/2004 for Food Contact Materials. The test results show that Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C is in full compliance, when applied to a wooden surface. Therefore, if Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C (A+B) is used on a wooden surface that is in itself food safe, then the combination of the wood and our Oil Plus 2C is also safe! We are very proud that we have obtained the Gold version of this GreenGuard label. This highest possible GreenGuard certification confirms our EcoConscious story once again. Since the certificate focuses on VOCs, this is yet another confirmation that we are VOC free. Thanks to this, Oil Plus 2C can safely be used for indoor environments. As Oil Plus 2C has obtained the GreenGuard Gold, this means that the product is also safe for schools and healthcare facilities. Obtaining this certificate goes to show that we really have a top quality product.

 Advantages of the GreenGuard Gold formula
The improved formula facilitates a lower consumption and better storage stability with high temperatures. It is also possible to mix both formulas with each other, so old and new batches can be used together for projects.

Please note: as a result of the improved formula, the colour “Pure” looks different in the can & bottle. The different look is only visible in the packaging, once applied there is no colour difference compared to our previous version.
