Journey through an enchanting, garden-inspired mansion in San Francisco with us.

Known for its iconic architecture and verdant gardens, San Francisco is a veritable smorgasbord of inspiration for designers.

One such inspirational gem is this historic mansion in the heart of the city. The property is filled with lush ideas for designers looking to infuse interior spaces with natural touches.

“One of the standout features of San Francisco mansion is its ability to seamlessly merge the outdoors with the indoors,” says Hommes Studio, a haute couture design studio based in Portugal, who looked to the property for inspiration.

“The lush private garden that graces this home serves as a wellspring of inspiration for interior designers and homeowners alike. The vibrant greenery, colourful blooms, and serene ambience of these gardens find their way indoors, creating a unique connection with nature.

Upon entry, it’s evident that the garden played a huge role in the interior design of the mansion: neutral hues, enlivened with moss green and navy blue, as well as graphic black and white, run throughout the home, while natural materials, such as wood and stone, add warmth throughout.

To further connect indoors and out, large floor-to-ceiling windows throughout open the home up onto the garden.

”The kitchen features large windows that allow an abundance of natural light to flood the space. The windows offer picturesque views of the surrounding gardens or outdoor areas, creating a harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor spaces,” explains Hommes Studio.

“While the primary bedroom has grand windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood the space.”

“Incorporating garden-inspired elements into interior design is a trend that has gained significant popularity. This involves the use of botanical prints, earthy colour palettes, and the inclusion of indoor plants. It’s about bringing the garden’s beauty and tranquillity into the living spaces of this historic mansion,” Hommes Studio includes.
