American Shutters: Women Supporting Women
Writer and activist, Audre Lorde once said, “When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.”
AMERICAN shutters is very proud to be part of a project that serves as a beautiful example of just how powerful women are in making a vision a reality.
“When well-known South African model, public speaker and businesswoman, Jo-Anne Strauss first approached us to be part of her impressive new home build, we knew then that this was going to an exciting project,” says Karina Palmer, owner and marketing director of AMERICAN shutters. “As an entrepreneur, business owner, mom and homemaker myself, I was thrilled to be working with a woman who has achieved such great success both professionally and personally.”
Taking the lead in project managing her family’s new home, Jo-Ann quickly brought together a team of professional women to create her and her husband’s dream home in Cape Town.
“I really love the fact that the entire process of building our home has been led by strong women,” says Jo-Ann Strauss. “From our architect, site manager and landscaper, to our interior designer and suppliers.’
