Scope of work: 1200sqm slate re-roof with Aluminium & Lead flashing details
Rondebosch library was originally designed by George Murray Alexander and the entire building is made from rough Table mountain sandstone. It has high teak doors, windows and stairways and was completed in 1899. It is a 100+ year old building with plenty of history and heritage in the heart of Rondebosch. The old asbestos slate was removed and the Cupa Pizarras (250x500mm) Spanish slate was used in the conventional method

NS imports most of its slate from Spain, France and Brazil. The slates come in 4 sizes depending on project requirements and is laid in the traditional or conventional method, which gives a triple overlap (see Spanish Slate – Products and Services). Local slate is mined in the Northern Province and stored at our premises in Ottery. This slate is laid using the Peterloo system (see Mazista Slate)
No job is too small or too big. We have a permanent work force of over 20 roofers many of whom have been with the company since 2003. All work is done in-house as we do not sub-contract to any other companies. We work closely with architects in the design and development of the complete roof structure. We are committed to health and safety practices and are BIBC compliant, and member of the Master Builders Association.
