Fjordenhus – sculptural architecture in brick
by
The Clay Brick Association of Southern Africa
When it comes to modern and minimalist design, Scandanavia leads the way! Fjordenhus is the first architectural work of Olafur Eliasson, a Danish-Icelandic artist.
Fjordenhus (Fjord house) honours its unique marine setting - it is completely surrounded by water and accessible only by a footbridge. The 28m-high building has a unique structure, formed by four intersecting cylinders.
About The Clay Brick Association of Southern Africa
Clay face bricks are the ideal, low-maintenance outdoor construction material for your patio, braai or boma. They won’t rot, tarnish, fade, rust, scuff, peel, erode or burn! Clay brick’s enduring hues and textures look beautiful for life, and are unaffected by UV or sun. The varied colours and textures of natural brick complement both traditional and contemporary materials. The Clay Brick Association of South Africa is proud to be an industry leader in the move to more sustainable, energy-efficient buildings.
