Weylandtstudio Unveils A New Project in Hermanus
Weylandtstudio is the interior design and concept division of Weylandts. The team creates bespoke interior solutions for residential, commercial and hospitality projects — from single-room solutions to large-scale developments. In short, their job is to make a space truly yours. To inject soul and understand your vision. To bring creative ideas and solutions to the table, and then make it happen within your budget and timeframe.
Operating under the guidance of Chris Weylandt and led by Anna Weylandt, a skilled team has a wealth of experience across a wide range of local and international projects. Being part of South Africa’s leading furniture and homeware retailer allows the brand to tap into the talent and know-how of artisans and brands within a global network. This enables the team to design and source tailor-made furniture pieces and décor items as needed.
At Weylandtstudio, they truly understand that every project is unique. This is why they approach each new project with a fresh mindset and a full tank of creative passion.
For this family home in Hermanus, the focus is on entertaining – for every mood. Parts of the house’s interiors were thus designed to be light and airy. This is to subsequently reflect Hermanus’s atmosphere of serenity. At the same time, darker, more dramatic spaces were created to contrast with this environment. This, therefore, offers areas in which to retreat when the mood dictates a shift.
Open plan living, with modular sofas that allow as many guests to be seated as possible, offers a natural flow, with a neutral palette that augments the feeling of spaciousness.
Statement elements stand out in every room – from vibrant wallpaper and hand-cast tiles to custom countertops and unique pieces of furniture.
