Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades 2026: A Tribute to Pierre Legrain at Milan Design Week
Unveiled within the refined setting of Palazzo Serbelloni, Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades presentation offered a considered tribute to Art Deco pioneer Pierre Legrain, revisiting a legacy of form, material, and craftsmanship through a contemporary lens. Presented during Milan Design Week, the Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades Pierre Legrain showcase brought past and present into quiet dialogue, where heritage informed new expressions of design.
Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades Reinterprets Pierre Legrain
At the centre of this narrative is Legrain’s distinctive visual language — one defined by geometry, material contrast, and a refined sense of proportion. His early collaboration with Louis Vuitton continues to resonate, now reinterpreted across furniture, textiles, dining pieces, and decorative objects. These re-editions do not seek to replicate, but rather to extend his ideas into the present.
A defining highlight is the Omega-shaped dressing table, originally designed in 1921 as the House’s first foray into furniture. Reissued in lacquered wood and Nomade leather, the piece retains its sculptural clarity while adapting to contemporary contexts. Similarly, the Riviera Chilienne chair, drawn from Legrain’s archives, returns in a composition of wood, leather, and mother-of-pearl marquetry, its interplay of light and texture reinforcing a quiet sense of refinement.
Beyond furniture, Legrain’s graphic sensibility finds expression in textiles such as the Nuits de Paris throw and cushion. Inspired by a book cover design, the pieces translate Art Deco motifs into rhythmic patterns and layered colour, introducing a softer, more tactile dimension to the collection.
Underlying it all is a continued exploration of savoir-faire. Within Objets Nomades, Louis Vuitton brings together international designers and skilled artisans, where noble materials meet innovation. From Legrain re-editions to contemporary works incorporating dichroic finishes and intricate marquetry, each piece reflects a careful balance between tradition and forward-thinking design.
Together, the collection forms a cohesive narrative — one that honours legacy while embracing evolution, positioning design as an ongoing conversation across time.
